This style of hot water system is generally installed outside the property; however some older models were installed indoors. They are available either as a mild steel tank with enamel glazing on the tank interior or as a stainless steel tank which should last a lifetime providing the water quality is low in TDS (total dissolved solids).

As these units are mains pressure, they can keep up with high demands. When you turn on the second, third or fourth tap, the hot water flow remains at mains pressure levels.
